TO FLY, TO WISH, OLÈRE A FARM BETWEEN TRADITION
AND INNOVATION FOLLOW OUR DRONE FLYING!

TREAT YOURSELF TO A WONDERFUL ADVENTURE IN THE MOST AUTHENTIC HEART OF THE APULIA REGION

When we “met” this warm and familiar landscape of Apulia that we have chosen as a place where to establish Olère, thousand-year-old olive and carob trees welcomed us with great affection. From the first moment, they made us feel at home and part of this ancient and fertile land. They asked us to do the same with everyone else who wants to discover and experience first hand this territory, and that’s how we realised we shared the same desire. Narrating the beauty of this lush land, how we collect and process its fruits, how we take care of our thousand-year-old “friends” and how we will realize a farm combining tradition and innovation is one of the ways we know to share with you this experience. The other is to invite you to experience it, by touching each treasure that our drone will show you, listening to the sounds of nature, and savouring its smells.

WALKING TOGETHER AMONG OLIVE AND CAROB TREES, TASTING OF PRODUCTS AND MOMENTS OF CONVIVIALITY

Come enjoy the shade under one of our majestic travelling companions; come and listen to the “chatter” of the branches shaken by the wind; come and feel scents and flavours hard to find elsewhere. We want to share with you the entire production cycle of the products of our land (from the harvesting of olives and carobs, to their transformation into genuine food, and to tasting the final product); we want to share with you how we built a technological yet traditional 2.0 farm in Apulia; we want to share with you our dreams and our adventures, asking you to accompany us with a smile, a bit of good company and healthy debate to create together a wonderful story.

What to see in the surroundings of the Olère Farm

Cities, beaches and natural parks: the apulia to be discovered

OSTUNI (A 8 KM)

Ostuni is a fascinating town in the province of Brindisi, which stands on three hills and is also known as the “white city” because of the characteristic lime covering its buildings. The historic city centre branches out in a series of alleys, narrow streets and ancient alleyways always “illuminated” by the whiteness of its buildings. It is a memorable walk. The cathedral and the bishop’s palace are other two places of interest to visit.

MARTINA FRANCA (A 30 KM)

Martina Franca is the most important and populous city of the Itria Valley. A visit there will leave you speechless: the old town is full of wonderful Baroque buildings; the palaces and religious buildings possess an almost ethereal beauty. A must to see is the minor basilica of St. Martin, a majestic example of history and architecture. Since 1974, Martina Franca hosts a renowned summer festival that offers every year numerous appointments with opera, concerts and dance.

LOCOROTONDO (A 33 KM)

Recognized as one of the most beautiful village in Italy, Locorotondo stands on a hill in the heart of the Itria Valley. It owes its name to the harmoniously rounded shape of its first inhabited neighbourhood and it, too, stands out for the white glow of its historic buildings located along the streets of the old town. Here the Baroque architecture in local stone is the backdrop to a variety of historical and religious structures, such as Palazzo Morelli, the main place of worship in the country with its rococo portal and balconies.

NATURAL RESERVE OF TORRE GUACETO (A 27 KM)

The Torre Guaceto State Natural Reserve is an area of great historical and environmental interest, located on the Adriatic coast of Salento, a few kilometers from Carovigno, from San Vito dei Normanni, and from Brindisi. The park looks like a “protected” rectangle of about 2,000 hectares, a mosaic of different environments and habitats that coexist harmoniously: from areas covered by the beautiful Mediterranean vegetation, to purely agricultural areas inhabited by centuries-old olive trees and dry stone walls, a typical construction of the Apulia region. Then you reach the low and rocky coast and wander among its untouched depths.

CISTERNINO (A 20 KM)

ANCI (National Association of Italian Municipalities) has officially recognized Cisternino as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and the reasons for such recognition are not difficult to understand. It suffices to think of prominent monuments such as the Great Tower, built by Frederick II, and the Cathedral Church dedicated to St. Nicholas. In addition, the water cycle lane crossing Cisternino creates a charming and quaint tourist route that can be cycled all the way, just down the service road of the Apulia aqueduct. The old part of the town, built in the eleventh century, overlooks the beautiful Itria Valley from a height of 400 meters above sea level. And the view from here is unique!

CEGLIE MESSAPICA (A 20 KM)

Ceglie Messapica, a lovely town of the province of Brindisi, offers a dramatic and diversified scenery that provides a view of the best beauties of Apulia: trulli (the “casedde“), farms, sinkholes, karst caves and stone walls, specchie (link to website), olive groves, vineyards, the Mediterranean vegetation. A rich and vital jewel in continuous development thanks to its mild and warm climate, its good social cohesion and its culinary excellence. Since 2013 Ceglie, in fact, is home to the Mediterranean Cooking School (http://www.medcookingschool.it/la-scuola/ ) which trains aspiring chefs and professionals of the traditional Apulia cuisine to make known to the whole world the best produce of a territory, a region, the entire Mediterranean basin.
